Nathalie Emmanuel

Nathalie Emmanuel was a British actor who gained notoriety for her character Missandei on HBO's fantasy epic "Game of Thrones" (HBO 2011, 2011-19). Emmanuel lived in Southend-on-the-Sea which is a beach resort in Essex and found herself drawn to performing arts since a young age. The mother of Nathalie was aware and her parents began enrolling her in singing, dancing and acting lessons when she was only three years old. Emmanuel was an accomplished performer, and she developed quickly. At the close in the 1990s, she performed the role of an infant Nala in "The The Lion King" which was a West End musical that was a huge success. Emmanuel started auditioning as a young teenager for roles in film and television. Her first major break in 2007 after she started playing Sasha Valentine on the British soap-opera "Hollyoaks" (Channel 4 in 1995- ). Emmanuel played Sasha Valentine for four years before leaving Hollyoaks at the end of 2010. Emmanuel's next big break followed three years later. she was selected to play Missandei in the role of interpreter for Daenerys Targaryen (portrayed by Emilia Clarke), on HBO's "Game of Thrones."
